Tim Allen
Photos by: Tim Allen
Since first being introduced to the world of photography by an art teacher and mentor, Mr. John Williams in 1971 at Lakeshore Middle School, Belle Glade Florida, I have always had a camera. Be from a borrowed old Leica Reflex that Mr. Williams trusted me with, to a classic Voigtlander my mom's uncle gave me as a gift to share his love of photography. From the first time of taking Kodak Tri-X 400, loading the roll in the darkroom, developing and making an 8 X 10 print of a class mate of mine from the negative; a camera has been with me.
Going on 47 years later including travel all over the world while serving in the U. S. Coast Guard, to trips working after my military retirement; a camera has been with me. From places such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Italy, Dubai, Ireland, West Virginia, Nevada, and so many others; a camera has been with me.
Being fortunate enough to have taken photographs of Pink Flamingos in Dubai, local school girls in Afghanistan, Eagles at Conowingo Dam; figure it is time to take advice of many friends and people I have met over the years; I have created this Website to share photos from past adventures and new ones to come.
I hope that these are enjoyed by the viewers that are nice enough to check out this website. In addition I hope to be able to allow others that find something that sticks out a chance to help support my continued adventure and to be able to purchase high quality limited edition fine art prints.
Most of all, I hope that this website may light a spark for others, being a young boy or girl or older man or woman to take up photography and make it a lifelong passion as it has been to me. That and the occasional suggestion, tips and passing what I have learned as well as continuing to learn from others.
My name is Tim Allen, a simple hillbilly from Corbin, Kentucky that hangs my hat in Falling Waters, West Virginia; a man that has been to over 52 countries, all of the 50 States of the USA as well as four of the Territories, and most of all; a proud father of two daughters and a lucky man to be married to my love of over 40 years.
